Our Story

Founded in May 2008, Second Cycle Community Bicycle Shop emerged from the passion of cyclists, bike mechanics, and messengers who envisioned a world where cycling is accessible to everyone. Starting in a cramped basement garage with minimal tools, the organization has grown into a vital community resource. Through dedicated efforts, Second Cycle has transformed into a full-service bike shop, offering programs that promote cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation and a means of personal empowerment.

Impact

As of August 2023, Second Cycle has successfully reused or recycled over 2000 bikes and parts, serving 1374 youth and adults while distributing over 1000 helmets to ensure safety.
