Our Story
The Sea Turtle Preservation Society was founded in 1986 by Peter Bandré, who was moved to action after witnessing the tragic fate of sea turtle hatchlings. Initially focused on rescuing these vulnerable creatures, the organization has expanded its mission to include nest surveys, public education, and various conservation programs aimed at protecting sea turtles and their habitats.
Impact
STPS has successfully rescued thousands of sea turtle hatchlings and conducted extensive nest surveys, significantly increasing hatchling survival rates while reducing threats from human activities.
