Our Story
LUMA, formerly known as The Symphony Guild, was established in 1997 by a dedicated group of professionals united by a common goal: to ensure that children receive the medical care they need, regardless of their circumstances. This passionate team has successfully raised over $1 million for uncompensated care and pediatric cancer research at Seattle Children’s Hospital, earning a spot on the hospital's prestigious "Top 25 Fundraising Guilds" list. Inspired by the heartbreaking loss of a colleague's daughter to brain cancer, Mateo Messina began volunteering at the hospital and later organized benefit concerts to support this vital cause. Today, LUMA has grown to over 50 members who tirelessly plan events and produce an annual benefit concert that has become a hallmark of community support.
