Our Story

Founded in 2007 by Mary Ellen Rogers, Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter began as a home-based clinic for injured coastal birds in Oak Island, North Carolina. After recognizing the lack of local facilities for wildlife care, Mary Ellen dedicated her efforts to rehabilitating birds that were hooked, netted, or orphaned. Over the years, the shelter has expanded to meet the increasing demand for wildlife rehabilitation services.

Impact on Wildlife Conservation

Since its inception, the shelter has successfully rehabilitated thousands of wild birds, playing a crucial role in local wildlife conservation efforts.
