Our Story
Founded in 2011 by Michael Bradshaw Flynn, the Scranton Shakespeare Festival began with a free performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream in Nay Aug Park, attracting nearly 1,000 attendees. Over the years, the festival has expanded its programming, becoming a vital platform for artists to develop original works. The establishment of The Shakes Space in The Marketplace at Steamtown has further solidified its commitment to the arts.
