Our Story

In 1993, Jo-El Wadsworth and Paul Winter met Scottie, an eight-year-old boy living in a van with his family. This encounter unveiled the hidden issue of child homelessness in the U.S. In 1999, they established TerraShare, the first year-round camp dedicated to children affected by homelessness. Since then, TerraShare has empowered over 500 children from shelters and impoverished families, expanding its mission to include local at-risk youth and launching the Leadership Education & Empowerment Program (LEEP) in partnership with the UN Refugee Agency in 2012.

Impact

TerraShare has transformed the lives of over 500 children affected by homelessness, providing safety, education, and opportunities for personal growth. The camp serves as a vital resource for children in crisis, helping them heal and develop essential leadership skills.
