Our Story

Founded in 1967 by the Junior Women’s Club and the Women’s Club of Panama City, the Science and Discovery Center of Northwest Florida has evolved into a vibrant hub for learning and exploration. The first exhibit opened in 1969, and since then, the museum has grown significantly, moving to its current location in 1981. Despite facing challenges, including the devastation of Hurricane Michael in 2018, the museum reopened in May 2021, showcasing new and exciting exhibits that continue to engage the community.

Impact

The Science and Discovery Center educates and inspires individuals of all ages through interactive exhibits and programs that promote the discovery of science, technology, and history.
