About Schuylkill River Greenways

The Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area, designated by Congress in 2000, connects communities across five counties in Pennsylvania to the Schuylkill River and its trail. This organization fosters civic engagement and economic development while promoting stewardship of the watershed and its rich heritage.

Impact of Schuylkill River Greenways

With over 30 miles of the Schuylkill River Trail built and maintained, Schuylkill River Greenways has engaged over 3,000 participants in the annual Schuylkill River Sojourn. The organization has also funded over 100 projects aimed at improving water quality, raising over $3 million for restoration efforts.
