Founded in 1998 by Mrs. Margaret Bridges, School Ministries of Spartanburg County arose from the need for spiritual guidance in public schools after the removal of prayer. The Released Time Bible education program was initiated and approved by the local school board in 1999, starting with just 97 students at Chesnee Middle School. Today, the program has expanded to serve multiple schools, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and providing quality Biblical instruction.
