School Justice Project (SJP) is dedicated to providing legal services and advocacy for older students with special education needs involved in Washington, DC's juvenile and criminal legal systems. Through community outreach and systemic advocacy, SJP works tirelessly to enhance understanding of education rights.
In the past year, SJP has successfully connected 85% of incarcerated clients to re-enrollment in school within 60 days of release. Additionally, 92% of clients have reported increased knowledge of their education rights, recovering approximately 25 lost credits and 230 hours of community service.
