Our Story

Founded in 1962 by dedicated Santa Barbara citizens, the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara began as a response to the community's need for increased scholarship support. Originally named the Santa Barbara Scholarship Clearing House, it has evolved into the largest community-based provider of college scholarships in the nation, awarding over $137 million to more than 55,000 students.

Impact

The Foundation has significantly transformed the lives of local youth by providing scholarships, financial aid counseling, and outreach to underserved students. Since its inception, it has awarded over $137 million to empower students in Santa Barbara County.
