Our Story

Founded in 2005 by Joy Bartling, Scatter Joy Acres began as Soby Ranch Ministries, dedicated to rescuing abused and neglected animals. Inspired by her childhood experiences, Joy created a sanctuary that offers therapeutic interactions for developmentally disabled and autistic children, seniors, veterans, and at-risk youth. In 2022, the organization expanded to a 15-acre site in Murray, NE, enhancing its programs and community outreach.

Impact

Scatter Joy Acres significantly improves the emotional and social well-being of individuals through animal therapy. The organization also serves as an educational site for the Cowboy Ethics curriculum, instilling values of responsibility and integrity in young people.
