Our Story

The Scappoose Bay Watershed Council, established in 1997, is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on enhancing the quality of life and natural resources in the Scappoose Bay area. Comprised of passionate volunteers, the Council engages the community in various projects aimed at protecting and restoring native fish, wildlife, and plants.

Impact

With significant achievements, the Council has removed 40 fish barriers, opened over 55 miles of salmon spawning streams, and planted more than 20,000 trees and shrubs. Over 2,500 local students and volunteers have participated in monitoring and restoration programs, greatly improving the watershed's health.
