Our Story

The roots of the SBA run as deep as those of New York City itself. Established in 1899, the Police Sergeants Endowment and Benevolent Association was formed by the Department’s supervisory officers. This fraternal organization has evolved from an advocacy group into a powerful union, advocating for the rights and welfare of NYPD Sergeants.

Impact

The SBA has successfully established collective bargaining rights, a self-administered health and welfare plan, and achieved pay parity with Fire Lieutenants, significantly enhancing the working conditions for NYPD Sergeants.

Why Donate?

Your contributions to the SBA directly support the welfare of NYPD Sergeants and their families. Donations help fund scholarships and provide essential support for the widows and children of fallen officers.
