Founded in 1927 by Takashi Kikuchi, 7th Dan, Sawtelle Judo Dojo is one of the oldest Judo schools in the United States. Located in West Los Angeles, this historic dojo was established as part of the Nikkei Community Center and has a rich legacy of teaching the principles of Kodokan Judo. After a brief closure during WWII, it reopened in 1950 and has since dedicated itself to fostering both physical and mental development through Judo.
With a commitment to excellence, Sawtelle Judo Dojo has successfully introduced countless students to Judo, nurturing champions at both junior and senior levels.
