Our Story

Saving with Soul Pet Rescue began its journey in early 2012 at the Walton County Animal Shelter in Defuniak Springs. Initially formed by a small group of dedicated volunteers, the organization focused on reducing the alarming euthanasia rates for dogs in the area. From 2012 to 2017, the team worked tirelessly to lower the euthanasia rate from 70% to less than 15%. After being asked to leave Walton County, the organization rebranded as Saving with Soul Pet Rescue, Inc. and has since saved thousands of dogs and cats, providing them with loving temporary homes while seeking their forever families.

Our Impact

Since its inception, Saving with Soul has significantly reduced the euthanasia rate in Walton County and provided safe, loving environments for countless animals. The organization continues to work diligently to find forever homes for these deserving pets.
