Our Story

Founded in the early 1990s by dedicated community members in Westside Costa Mesa, Save Our Youth (SOY) was established to provide an alternative to gangs for local teens. Since 1993, SOY has positively impacted over 12,000 low-income, at-risk youth from the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, offering a safe haven where they can find hope and develop essential life skills.

SOY has empowered thousands of youth by providing over $4 million in scholarships, ensuring that 100% of its college-bound seniors receive the financial support they need to pursue higher education. The organization’s programs have transformed lives, helping students become productive members of society.
