Our Story

The Save Our Bosque Task Force was established in 1994 by dedicated citizens of Socorro County, New Mexico. This nonprofit organization was formed in response to the alarming degradation of the ecosystem along the Rio Grande bosque, caused by trash dumping, off-road vehicle use, illegal fuelwood cutting, and wildfire. The Task Force collaborates with local communities to promote a healthy Rio Grande bosque and riparian ecosystem, celebrating its vital benefits.

Our Impact

With over $1 million secured for various projects, the Task Force has successfully implemented numerous habitat restoration initiatives, improved public recreation areas, and provided essential environmental education for local students.
