Our Story
Since 1945, the Santa Monica Symphony Orchestra has been a vital cultural asset in Santa Monica, serving diverse audiences across various backgrounds. Founded by a group of talented Los Angeles studio musicians, the orchestra has transformed over the decades into a blend of top professionals, emerging pre-professionals, and exceptional volunteer musicians. With a concert season that attracts over 5,000 attendees, the Symphony offers a rich repertoire of classical and contemporary works. In addition to free concerts, the Symphony engages the community through outreach programs, open rehearsals, and performances at local events.
