The Bay Foundation

Our Story

The Santa Monica Bay Foundation is dedicated to restoring, enhancing, and protecting Santa Monica Bay through collaborative actions and partnerships. As part of the Santa Monica Bay National Estuary Program, established by Congress in 1987, the foundation focuses on improving water quality and conserving natural resources for the diverse species and communities that depend on the Bay.

Impact

In 2023, The Bay Foundation celebrated the successful outplanting of 6,230 white abalone and the restoration of approximately 60 acres of vital kelp forests, enhancing marine biodiversity and coastal protection.
