About the Marjorie Luke Theatre

The Marjorie Luke Theatre, a historic Spanish Colonial Revival venue, has been a cornerstone of the Santa Barbara community since its inception in 1933. Through a unique partnership with the Santa Barbara Unified School District, this 808-seat theatre serves as a vibrant hub for both school and community events, hosting over 100 arts and education organizations annually.

Impact on the Community

Each year, approximately 40,000 individuals experience the magic of live performances at The Luke. Since its renovation and grand reopening in 2003, the theatre has welcomed over half a million attendees, earning the title of “The People’s Theatre” for its commitment to diversity and inclusion.
