Our Story

The Sandler Center Foundation was established in 2007 through a public/private partnership initiated by the City of Virginia Beach. This initiative aimed to strengthen the local arts community and provide a venue for world-class performers. With over $15 million raised, the foundation successfully built the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, exceeding its original fundraising goal. SCF is dedicated to enhancing children's education through the arts, community outreach, and supporting local arts organizations. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, SCF has redefined its strategic direction to maximize its impact in Coastal Virginia.

Our Impact

Since its inception, SCF has raised over $500,000 annually to support the arts in Coastal Virginia, serving over 35,000 children, teachers, and families since 2021.
