Sanctuary of Hope

Our Story

Sanctuary of Hope was established in 2010 by a dedicated group of South Los Angeles professionals who recognized the urgent need to address youth homelessness in the area. With limited options for emergency and transitional housing, many young individuals faced dire circumstances, including gang involvement, unplanned pregnancies, and substance abuse. Since its inception, SOH has positively impacted over 7,000 youth and young adults by providing essential housing, education, and leadership development services across South Los Angeles, South Bay, Compton, and Antelope Valley.

Impact

Sanctuary of Hope is proud to report that 90% of youth and young adults experience housing and education stability. Remarkably, 76% of those who received housing assistance secured permanent housing, while 83% increased their income through various means. The average GPA of participants rose from 2.6 to 2.86, and 90% enrolled in college or vocational programs, with 35% completing a degree or certification.
