Founded in the Spring of 2000 by Dr. Irina Morgan and her husband Dan Morgan, the San Jose International Piano Competition began as the International Russian Music Piano Competition. Initially featuring 35 contestants and a modest prize pool of $500, it has since evolved into a prestigious international event. Held at San Jose State University, this competition attracts talented pianists from around the globe, supported by a distinguished jury of concert pianists and educators.
