Our Story
Founded in 1979 by community activist Glady Thacher, the San Francisco Education Fund emerged in response to Proposition 13, which drastically reduced funding for public education. Over the years, the Ed Fund has evolved, merging with San Francisco School Volunteers in 2009, and has been dedicated to mobilizing community support and resources for public schools in the San Francisco Unified School District.
Impact
With over $15 million invested, the Ed Fund has positively impacted more than 270,000 students through tutoring, scholarships, and grants.
