Since 1978, the San Francisco Children's Art Center has been dedicated to engaging young people in visual arts education that prioritizes self-expression and creativity. Teaching artists actively listen to children, supporting their exploration of ideas, memories, and feelings. By empowering students to express their identity through art, the center fosters language development, problem-solving skills, and connections with others.
Each year, approximately 1,200 children benefit from our programs, with 70% coming from economically vulnerable families and 85% being youth of color.
