About San Diego Women’s Chorus

Founded in 1987 by community activist Dr. Cynthia Lawrence-Wallace, the San Diego Women’s Chorus began with just 14 members rehearsing in a home. Today, it has blossomed into a vibrant community of over 150 diverse members, including women, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and transgender individuals. The chorus aims to entertain and inspire audiences through music that addresses vital social issues such as human rights, love, world peace, and cultural diversity.

Impact of Music

SDWC positively impacts the community by providing a safe and welcoming environment for its members, inspiring social action through diverse musical themes.
