Our Story
Founded in 1888, the San Diego Rowing Club has a rich history of promoting the sport of rowing in the San Diego community. Originally established as the Excelsior Rowing and Swim Club, it became the San Diego Rowing Club in 1891. Over the years, the club has faced challenges, including a decline in membership and the loss of its original boathouse. However, it has successfully relocated and now boasts nearly 500 members, offering programs for juniors, masters, and recreational rowers.
