Our Story

Founded in 1972 by George Willis, San Diego Dance Theater has been a beacon of joy, comedy, and theatricality in modern dance. Under the visionary leadership of Jean Isaacs since 1997, the organization has embraced unconventional programming and expanded access to the stage for diverse dancers. Current Executive Artistic Director Terry Wilson continues this legacy, fostering growth, curiosity, positivity, and diversity.
