Our Story

Samueli Academy was founded nearly 20 years ago by philanthropists Susan Samueli and Sandi Jackson, who were deeply concerned about the low high school graduation rates among teens in Orange County, particularly those in foster care. They sought to create innovative educational opportunities and rallied support from various sectors, including philanthropy, business, and education. This collaborative effort led to the establishment of Samueli Academy, a public charter school dedicated to nurturing students and preparing them for success in life.

With an impressive 99% graduation rate, 92% college attendance rate, and 85% college persistence rate, Samueli Academy significantly enhances student success, especially for foster youth.
