Our Story

For over 50 years, the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center has been a beacon of hope for families in Kansas City. Founded by Dr. Samuel U. Rodgers in 1968, it was the first federally recognized community health center in Missouri and only the fourth in the United States. Located in the Wayne Miner Housing Project, the center was established to ensure that families could access essential health services right in their community. Dr. Rodgers' vision of family-centered care continues to guide the center's mission today.
