Our Story
Since 1898, Fleisher Art Memorial has dedicated itself to making art accessible to everyone, regardless of economic means, background, or artistic experience. Founded by Samuel S. Fleisher, the organization began with free art classes for lower-income children, fostering a collaborative artistic space for all races and nationalities. Evolving from the Graphic Sketch Club into an independent nonprofit in 1983, Fleisher maintains a strong connection to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Impact
Fleisher serves over 16,000 individuals annually, providing tuition-free classes and low-cost workshops to young people and adults, while engaging with public schools and community centers throughout Southeast Philadelphia.
