About Sammy’s House

Founded in November 1999, Sammy’s House began as a family home child care center dedicated to serving medically fragile children. The overwhelming demand from parents highlighted a significant need for specialized care in Austin. In response, a coalition of families and professionals established Sammy’s House as a nonprofit organization, launching a child development center in March 2002. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services, including a respite care program in 2003 and a therapeutic equipment loaning program in 2004. Today, Sammy’s House continues to thrive, providing essential support to families in need.

Every year, Sammy’s House positively impacts the lives of over 100 children in the Austin area, offering high-quality education and care tailored to children of all abilities.
