Our Story
On July 21, 2020, a tragic car accident changed the lives of many. Sammie, a vibrant young girl, was ejected from her vehicle due to not wearing a seat belt. After a courageous six-day battle, she passed away on July 27th, the day after her 15th birthday. This devastating loss inspired the creation of Sammie's Sunshine, a foundation dedicated to supporting families facing similar tragedies.
In the wake of this heart-wrenching experience, the family recognized the importance of community support. While they were fortunate to have friends rally around them, they understood that not all families have the same resources. Sammie's Sunshine aims to provide emotional, financial, and practical support to those navigating the painful journey of loss.
Additionally, the foundation is committed to raising awareness about the critical importance of seat belt use. By sharing Sammie's story, they hope to prevent future tragedies and save lives. The mission is clear: to ensure that no family has to endure the same heartache.
