Samaritan Medical Center, established in 1881, began as The House of the Good Samaritan, dedicated to offering medical treatment to the sick and disabled, especially the indigent. Over the years, it has evolved into a 290-bed community medical center, serving the healthcare needs of the civilian and military community in northern New York.
