Samaritan Health Clinic

Our Story

In November 1991, a group of dedicated volunteers from United Christian Ministries recognized a pressing need for free medical care in Pickens County. This led to the establishment of the Pickens County Free Medical Clinic, which began serving approximately 20 patients each week in a classroom at the B.J. Skelton Career Center. Over the years, the clinic has evolved significantly, relocating to West End Hall in Easley in 1993 to accommodate more patients and services.

In 2002, a Community Development Block Grant enabled the clinic to purchase a new building, which is now shared with United Christian Ministries. Renamed the Samaritan Health Clinic of Pickens County in 2005, the clinic expanded its services further by opening a dental clinic in 2015, providing essential dental care to those in need.

Impact

Since its inception, the dental clinic has transformed the lives of hundreds of patients who had not seen a dentist in years due to financial constraints. By offering free dental care, the clinic has significantly improved the community’s oral health and overall well-being.
