Our Story

The Samaritan Counseling Center of Southeastern Michigan was founded in 1985 by a coalition of local churches, inspired by The Rev. Robert L. S. Brown. This ecumenical effort brought together twelve congregations to create a supportive environment for mental health services. Over the years, SCC has expanded its staff and services, adapting to the evolving needs of the community.

Since its inception, SCC has delivered thousands of counseling hours annually, significantly enhancing access to mental healthcare in Southeastern Michigan.
