Our Story

Salfid Rescue Inc. was founded in 2005 by Debra Curley, who began transporting dogs in need. When faced with an overwhelming number of puppies needing rescue, Debra declared, "I'll take them!" This moment sparked the creation of Salfid Rescue Inc., which received its 501(c)(3) status in November 2008. Since then, dedicated volunteers have worked tirelessly to save dogs and puppies from overpopulated shelters across Virginia and beyond, including partnerships with Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Franklin County Humane Society, and the Humane Society of Amherst County.

Our Impact

Each year, Salfid Rescue Inc. saves approximately 200-300 dogs from shelters, providing them with essential medical care and loving foster homes until they find their forever families.
