Our Story

Mercy Care, established in 1985, is a non-profit organization rooted in the healing ministry of the Sisters of Mercy. With a rich history of serving the community, including providing healthcare during the Civil War and opening the first hospital in metro Atlanta, Mercy Care is dedicated to offering compassionate healthcare to those in need.

Impact

In 2021, Mercy Care raised over $24 million in grants and donations, facilitating over 57,696 patient encounters in 2022. With 53% of patients uninsured and 62% living at or below the poverty line, Mercy Care plays a critical role in providing healthcare access to underserved communities.
