In the spring of 1996, a group of determined female students at Saint Ignatius College Prep envisioned a crew club, leading to the establishment of Saint Ignatius Chicago Rowing. With the support of Tim Toomey, the team was formed, and 60 enthusiastic girls attended the inaugural meeting. Over the past 25 years, this program has flourished, creating a legacy of excellence on the water.
Saint Ignatius Rowers have achieved remarkable success, attending prestigious institutions like Harvard, Princeton, and Yale. The team has gained both regional and national recognition, showcasing the dedication and talent of its athletes.
