Our Story

Building upon community sailing programs sponsored by the Salem Park, Recreation & Community Services Department, Sail Salem was established in 2007. This nonprofit organization offers educational sailing programs designed to empower participants from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds. Through sailing, individuals develop independence, self-confidence, and communication skills while fostering teamwork and community spirit.

Impact

Sail Salem has introduced the sport of sailing to thousands of children in Salem and surrounding North Shore towns, providing scholarships and financial aid to ensure accessibility for all.
