The Safety Team

Our Story

The Safety Team, Inc. was founded 20 years ago by a group of advanced female martial artists with diverse professional expertise in addressing violence against women. By merging martial arts skills with their professional backgrounds, they created comprehensive Empowerment Self-Defense (ESD) training programs. Collaborating with community groups, colleges, and schools, The Safety Team has provided ESD training throughout Vermont, serving thousands of women and helping many reduce their risk of violence and heal from trauma.

Impact

The Safety Team has developed a specialized trauma recovery program that has significantly aided survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and other forms of interpersonal violence. Participants have reported transformational results, showcasing the effectiveness of these programs.
