Our Story

Co-founded in 2006 by the late actor and philanthropist Paul Newman and former Goldman Sachs chairman John Whitehead, Safe Water Network addresses the global challenge of water access. With offices in Accra, Ghana, and New Delhi, India, the organization empowers underserved communities to own and manage safe water stations, creating a sustainable model tailored to local needs.

Impact

Safe Water Network has positively impacted 1.7 million people in 489 communities through direct implementation and reached 20 million through technical assistance, aiming to improve access to safe water for 50 million people by 2026.
