Safe Sisters Circle

Our Story

Founded in 2018 by Alana C. Brown, Esq., The Safe Sisters Circle (TSSC) emerged from a critical need to bridge the gap between service providers and Black women survivors in Washington, DC. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by these individuals, TSSC began offering legal and advocacy services, and has since expanded to include short-term counseling. With a focus on culturally specific, holistic, and trauma-informed care, TSSC is dedicated to helping Black women and girls thrive free from abuse and violence.

Impact

In just five years, TSSC has made a significant impact in the lives of survivors in Wards 7 and 8 of Washington, DC, providing essential support that empowers them to recover and rebuild.
