Founded in 2007 by local parents, Safe Haven Farms emerged from the need for residential and vocational services for adults with autism. Inspired by successful farm models in the U.S. and England, the organization purchased a 60-acre parcel in 2009, completing construction of residences in 2010. With the support of generous donors, grants, and volunteers, Safe Haven Farms has created a nurturing environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Safe Haven Farms provides housing for sixteen adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, fostering a safe and accepting farm environment. The organization has launched a therapeutic equestrian program and partnered with ViaQuest Solutions for Independence, expanding its reach to serve up to 32 adults.
