Our Story

Safe Harbor Lab Rescue was co-founded by Leslie Brown and Lauren Immel to honor the memory of Les’ first Lab, Tess. The vision was to provide a safe haven for senior Labs, Labs needing hospice care, and special needs Labs, who often face bleak prospects in shelters. With a history of caring for special needs Labs like Owen, a hydrocephalic Lab who defied the odds, Safe Harbor has become a beacon of hope for these deserving animals.

Impact

Since 2002, over 4500 Labs have been saved, receiving compassionate care and successful rehoming, primarily in Colorado.
