Safe Harbor Crisis Center
EIN: 87-0516562 · Layton, UT
Our Story
In 1994, a dedicated group of citizens in Davis County, Utah, came together to combat the alarming rise of violence against women. This grassroots initiative transformed into the Safe Harbor Crisis Center, which opened its doors in 1997 as a beacon of hope for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Over the years, Safe Harbor has expanded its services to include emergency shelter, outreach programs, and protective order assistance, becoming the only domestic violence and rape crisis center in the region.
Impact
During the 2017-18 fiscal year, Safe Harbor answered over 4,000 crisis line calls, provided nearly 9,000 shelter nights, and assisted with hundreds of protective orders. The center also offered therapy sessions and educated more than 1,600 community members.
