Our Story

Founded in 1994 by Deborah Armstrong, Safe Embrace, originally known as Victorious in His Sight, was created to support women-of-color victims of domestic violence. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services to include a 24-hour crisis intervention line and an emergency shelter for abused women and their children. With innovative leadership, Safe Embrace has become a beacon of hope, providing culturally competent support and education to those in need.
