Founded in 2001 by Cecilia Clarke at her dining room table, the Sadie Nash Leadership Project was inspired by Virginia 'Sadie' Nash, a community leader known for her kindness and leadership. This organization empowers young women and gender-expansive youth of color to become agents of change in their lives and communities.
With over 10,000 youth leaders created, Sadie Nash Leadership Project has made significant strides in the movement for racial, gender, and social justice. Programs like the ELLA Fellowship and Summer Institute have garnered national recognition, including an award from Michelle Obama.
