Our Story

Founded in 1990 by the Maryland Province Jesuits and the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, Sacred Heart Center has transformed the former Sacred Heart School building into a vibrant community hub. Initially offering day and after-school programs for children, the Center evolved its mission in 2011 to better serve the growing Latino community in South Richmond. With a community-based board of directors, innovative programming was developed to meet the diverse needs of local families.

Impact

In the 2016-2017 period alone, Sacred Heart Center enrolled over 600 students in core educational programs and provided essential services to thousands more through collaborative partnerships.
